Happy (belated) Chronicles of Evil Birthday - Maury Terry

Maury Terry (The Ultimate Evil) Birthdate - June 29 1946 Maury Terry was a fascinating character of true crime investigation. A man who followed a hunch, Terry launched a one man, full-scale investigation into one of the most intense murder cases in New York city history, the Son of Sam murders.  Terry had no professional experience in law enforcement. What he did have, however, was the ability to sniff out a story and dig for the truth. The Son of Sam murders were big news, and Maury sensed there was more to the story than what viewers saw on the evening news.  Terry believed the murders, which were being attributed solely to David Berkowitz, in which 6 died and 9 were wounded, were in fact the work of more than one assailant. He based this belief on a number of factors, one of which included eye-witness descriptions of the killer which didn't resemble Berkowitz at all.  Maury would go on to write a bestselling book about his investigation into the dark world of satanic worship an

"If I were to see this patient without having any history available or getting any history from him, I would think that we're dealing with a very well adjusted young man who had initiative, intelligence and who was free of any psychiatric illnesses ... It is my opinion that he has made a very excellent response to the years of treatment and rehabilitation and I would see no psychiatric reason to consider him to be of any danger to himself or to any member of society ... [and] since it may allow him more freedom as an adult to develop his potential, I would consider it reasonable to have a permanent expunction of his juvenile records."
